Where does Laxton ship to?

  • We can ship to virtually any address in the world. 

Does Laxton ship my goods on my behalf or must I use my own courier company?

  • If required Laxton can ship your goods and is recommended for clients who have limited shipping experience.
  • Laxton only uses its own accredited shipping company when a supplier requires this service.
  • Laxton provides this service to assist customers and accepts no liability for loss or damage after the goods have been handed over to the courier company. Laxton insists that insurance be taken out on all shipments to cover this risk.

What are the different shipping options Laxton provides? How Long does each option take?

  • Express Air (DHL)
    • Door to Door shipping
    • Best to use for shipments of 100kg or less
    • Fastest shipping option
    • Laxton is not liable for local tax charges
    • 3-7days
  • Air Freight
    • We will ship the goods to the nearest airport to you in your country
    • You will require a local shipping agent in your country to clear customs and transport the goods to you premises.
    • You must deal independently with your local shipping agent for local charges and taxes.
    • 5-10days
  • Sea Freight Full Container Loads (20”, 40”, 40”HQ) – FCL
    • We will ship the goods to the nearest sea port to you in your country
    • You will require a local shipping agent in your country to clear customs and transport the goods to you premises.
    • You must deal independently with your local shipping agent for local charges and taxes.
    • 3-5weeks
  • Sea Freight Partial Container Loads – LCL
    • Your goods are consolidated with goods in other containers
    • 4-7weeks

 How do I choose my shipping method?

  • A sales consultant will confirm this with you or alternatively you can specify it in advance

Is the shipping door to door?

  • Door to door shipping is only available for Express Airfreight such as DHL, TNT and UPS.
  • Door to door is not available for airfreight or sea freight

Why do I need my own local shipping agent if Laxton ships my goods by airfreight or sea freight?

  • Each country has its own different shipping laws, tax laws and various other regulations
  • It is far safer as well as cost effective to use a professional local agent in your respective country to handle the local customs clearance and transport from port to your premises

Who is the Receiving Party/Consignee?

  • This is the receiving party or company receiving the goods

Who is the Shipping Agent/Notify Party?

  • This is your local shipping agent that will be notified of the arrival of a shipment in your country.

What is the shipping form?

  • This is completed when you register an account with Laxton and has the details of where Laxton ships your goods

What is the shipment confirmation form?

  • This is a form sent to a customer which summaries all details of their shipment
  • This is sent before every shipment

The courier has collected the goods from the Laxton warehouse but I have not yet received my airway bill, bill of lading or tracking number and I am feeling stressed about this. When can I get these documents?

  • Express freight: There should be no delay to receive the tracking #
  • Airfreight: Usually takes 1-3 days after the courier collect the goods to get the airway bill. The airway bill is only collected when the goods are handed over to the airline carrier. There is naturally a time delay for transporting to the airport and hand over to the airline. Goods sometime wait a few days before handover takes place.
  • Sea freight: Usually takes 5-8 days after the courier collects the goods to get the bill of lading. The bill of lading is only collected when the goods are handed over to the shipping line. There is naturally a time delay for transport to the port and handover to the shipping line. Goods sometime wait a few days before handover takes place.

What are the shipping rates?

  • Shipping rates for products vary based on weight, volume, shipping season and method of shipping and will be quoted for each order.

What is the difference between EXW, FOB, CIF, Door-Door quotations?

  • EXW
    • Price of the goods if not delivered and picked up directly from our factory
  • FOB
    • Price of the goods if not delivered and picked up directly from our factory
    • PLUS cost to delivery and release to courier at our local air port or sea port
    • PLUS local taxes if applicable
  • CIF
    • Price of the goods if not delivered and picked up directly from our factory
    • PLUS cost to delivery and release to courier at our local airport or seaport
    • PLUS local taxes if applicable
    • PLUS cost of airfreight or sea freight from our local airport/seaport to your local airport or seaport
    • PLUS insurance to customers local airport or seaport
    • EXCLUDES taxes due in customer’s country
  • Door-Door
    • All shipping costs included
    • EXCLUDES taxes due in customer’s country

How do I know what the cost and method of shipping is?

  • This is show as a separate line item on all quotations and proforma invoices.

What costs are Laxton never Liable for?

  • Local taxes in your country
  • Local storage charges in your country due to late pickups at the port
  • Any other penalties or extra costs in your local country
  • Replacement costs or damage costs due to lost, stolen or damaged shipments. Customers must ensure the shipments are insured adequately.
